What a whirlwind of a weekend that just past! It’s already Tuesday and I still feel like I’m catching up…We started our weekend off right and broke in our backyard. We’ve been having such nice weather and trying to spend every minute we can outside! We had some of our favourite neighbours over for a fire last Thursday and it set such a fun tone for every day since! I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it snowed two weeks ago!?
I mentioned this in my previous post, Colin’s Mom and Grandma came for a visit and it was very special. They just left us yesterday and it was sad to see them go. We don’t see them as often as we would like because they live out on the west coast. Colin’s niece lives here in town and she joined us for most of their visit too, which meant a lot to us. It was so fun to watch Ada show off all of her tricks and toys to her family, and spend time with very loving people! We all spent lots of time sitting and reading with her, as well as just simply watching her bounce around our house babbling away. By the end of their visit, Ada was offering hugs and kisses to them and I think they were tickled by how much she opened up to them during their stay. Ada’s Great Grandma is really into genealogy and I learned some pretty cool things about some of my family’s past – I actually think I may be addicted too. Toying with the idea of signing up for ancestry.com. Anyone else have an account? Should I do it?
Most of the shots above where mostly taken from Friday night and Saturday! We had a lovely dinner outside, followed by a fire and then spent the day on Saturday checking out the Strathcona Farmer’s Market, The Royal Bison art and craft fair, as well as The Butterdome Spring Craft Sale. We rocked it. Thank goodness Ada is a good stroller napper! We found a couple of cute items and had a really good time walking the aisles and checking out all the goods. Ada enjoyed all the live music that was around and had to stop and dance to every musician. She holds her arms out and stomps her feet. Colin and I laugh every time at the cuteness!
On Sunday, we took Nanny (Colin’s Mom) to the pool and Ada got to show off her moves! She is such a water baby. It makes us so happy because Colin and I are both lovers of water – although moment of truth here…Colin can’t float! He sinks hahaha! But he still loves it and is a strong swimmer.
We wrapped up our weekend with an amazing celebratory dinner for my youngest brother on Sunday. He graduated from his program and we all got together for a meal. It was so amazing to be sitting at the table surrounded by most of my family! Even though my parents are no longer together, we still can all have dinner around the same table (new partners and all) and that makes me happier than anything! My Mom and Step Dad killed it on the dinner front. I think it was the best prime rib I have ever had! U.N.R.E.A.L.
Glad we were able to make special memories with Colin’s Mom and Grandma! Looking forward to many more.
xoxo Andrea
